Remembering Annabel Low today, my aunt and co-writer. She would have been 60 today. On our book cover, that's her on the left and me on the right. I miss you, dear one.
I love this ellen. and i got to show ppl i've met what the book looks like :) i tried cooking in the hostel for the first time tonight. i might have to get you to forward a recipe to me so i can try it over here!
I like to share work in progress, random foodie notes (since I've written two cookbooks and illustrated others), and occasional past work from different periods of my 40+ years of drawing and painting.
Every Grain of Rice: A Taste of Our Chinese Childhood in America Co-written with Annabel Low, illustrated throughout with my watercolors. Winner of IACP (International Association of Culinary Professionals) Julia Child Award. Out of print, but available new and used at varying prices.
She is missed. I must try cooking some of the recipes sometime. It's a gorgeous book and definitely rich with family history.

ReplyDeleteI know you miss her, too. I'm happy to hear you're cooking. Your mom would have loved that!
