Drawing Group

© Ellen Blonder
Here's a two-minute sketch of my friend Barbara from our drawing group today. Although we've met for years, we've all but stopped lately. Feels good to knock off the rustiness and loosen up, like working out after a long period of inactivity.

Georgia-Ink Sketch

© Ellen Blonder
Playing a little more with the etching idea after the Rembrandt-Lucian Freud exhibit at Toronto's Art Gallery of Ontario, I used disposable pen to ink over a five-minute pencil sketch I had made last fall of Georgia from my drawing group.

Drawing Group Yesterday

© Ellen Blonder
My drawing group met yesterday, after over a month's hiatus. Here's a fifteen-minute sketch of the other four members: April, Barbara (twice), Abby, Georgia, Abby again. Places visited by group members since our last meeting include New York, London, Italy and Budapest; planned trips in the near future include Savannah, Peru and China. Hardest thing to do while we model for one another: not talking, especially after a long break. Yesterday's great music discovery while sketching: soundtrack from Tout les Matins du Monde.
